The Cotton Association of India (CAI) released its February estimates (as on 28th February  2013) of the cotton crop for the season 2012-13. CAI has placed the cotton crop for the season 2012-13 at --------- lakh bales.  The projected Balance Sheet drawn by the CAI for the year 2012-13 estimated the total cotton supply at --------- lakh bales while the domestic consumption is estimated at ---------- lakh bales, thus leaving an available surplus of --------- lakh bales. The arrivals as on 28th February 2013 are placed at --------- lakh bales.  A statement containing the State-wise estimates of Crop and Balance Sheet for the season 2012-13 and the corresponding data for the previous season 2011-12 is given below.

The cotton crop continues to look promising this year despite the reduction in cotton acreage. 

The mill sector continues to perform well.  

The average daily arrivals continue at an impressive pace of over ------------ bales.
