The Cotton Association of India (CAI) released its October estimate of the cotton crop for the season 2013-14. CAI has placed the cotton crop for the season 2013-14 beginning on 1st October 2013 at 380.50 lakh bales of 170 kgs. each.
With the monsoon finally having withdrawn, arrivals have begun in right earnest. Prices prevailing of seed cotton have come down substantially raising fear of a possible MSP operation specially in Andhra Pradesh
