The Crop Weather Watch Group of Agriculture Ministry has today released the final sowing figures for major rabi crops. The rabi crops have been sown in 629 lakh hectare as compared to 627.5 lakh hectare last year and 619.9 lakh hectare sown on average in the last five years. While wheat has been sown in approximately the same area as last year, there has been improvement in area under coarse cereals, pulses and oilseeds. The details of the area covered under major rabi crops as on today, last year and average of five years are given below: -
